Lip lift
What is a lip lift?
A lip lift is a cosmetic surgical procedure to reposition or lift the upper lip. It can be repositioned almost entirely or only in the central area, resulting in more rejuvenated and attractive lips.
Its purpose is to reduce the distance between the base of the nose and the edge of the lip, which elongates and tends to invert over time. It is sometimes accompanied by lip augmentation to maintain the harmony between the lips.

Who are the candidates for this surgery?
Candidates are those who suffer from an unsightly elongation of the upper lip, or those who desire more attractive, fuller, and more rejuvenated lips. There is no upper age limit for this surgery.
What is the surgery like?
It is performed in an operating room and lasts one hour. General anesthesia or sedation is usually used. It is sometimes combined with other facial rejuvenation surgeries. The incision is made just below the nose, leaving an imperceptible scar in the shadow of the nose.
This procedure causes mild to moderate local swelling. Bruising is expected in the first few days. The intensity depends on the individual patient and the extent of the treatment. You will be advised to sleep with your head elevated on two or three pillows for the first 48 hours to help relieve swelling. You may bathe the next day, making sure to thoroughly dry the area under your nose. The stitches will be removed after five to seven days.
The use of anti-inflammatory and healing balms is recommended afterwards.
The scar is imperceptible, at first it can be easily noticed although as the months go by it will become more difficult to distinguish.
